DAZL Supports Elderly at Sharp Lane Community Group DAZL South Leeds Cheerdance & Hip-Hop Academy the DAZL Diamonds took to Sharp Lane Community Centre, Cranmore Grove for the queens 90th Birthday bash. The event was hosted by the Sharp Lane Community group for the elderly, the day was full of performances, tombola, raffles, bun stalls and lots of wonderful food. We had 49 young dancers ages 3-12 years entertain the community and particularly the ladies and gentlemen from the local elder sheltered accommodation.   The event was supported by local Middleton Park Ward Councillors Kim Groves, Paul Truswell and Leader of Leeds City Council Judith Blake. The event organisation Christine Thompson who also happens to be a local sheltered accommodation resident made the whole thing happen and on behalf of the families at Dance Action Zone Leeds (DAZL) we thank her for inviting us and for a wonderful day. Through the sale of buns, clothes, raffle and a tombola we helped raise £300 which will support the elderly who often only get out to the community centre to go out for the day on a trip to the coast. for more information on Sharp Lane Community Group visit their FACEBOOK Page or TWITTER @SharpLaneCom
