Leeds organisations have teamed up with the support of Yorkshire Sport and Richmond Hill Academy (Gorse Academy Trust). DAZL delivers dance and Acro, Leeds Rhinos delivers rugby, Leeds United delivers football and multisport and Inspiring Positive Futures.
The aim of the LS9 Club is focused on young people from across Leeds 9 providing high quality physical activities and provision for children and young people.
In our first week we have engaged over 70 young people and this is growing by the day. We so excited that all organisations can come together and provide this service. The need for these activities which have been made free is vital.
Poverty and low aspiration is high in the ward and we hope engagement in this provision will improve this and inspire the young people to see beyond what they currently feel is possible.
We aim to celebrate the small step and we move along our first term of activity. This is just the beginning for the partnership and bigger plans are ahead of us.
