Dance Action Zone Leeds (DAZL) is committed to enhancing community health and well-being by leveraging dance as a creative and engaging pathway. Through our partnership with Leeds Public Health our commissioned service the Leeds Family Healthy Living Service focuses on promoting behaviour change that encourages healthier lifestyles for families.
Our programs emphasize the importance of physical activity, nutrition, and healthy eating, integrating dance as a fun and accessible form of exercise. By offering a variety of dance and physical activity sessions for all ages, we create an inclusive environment that motivates families to stay active together. In addition to physical activity, we provide essential food and nutrition education, helping community members make informed choices about their diets. This holistic approach not only improves physical health but also supports mental well-being, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Through our efforts here at DAZL we play a crucial role in promoting healthier lifestyles, enhancing the overall quality of life for individuals and families in the Leeds area in particular areas of deprivation contributing to the objectives of Leeds Public Health and wider Leeds City Council Priorities.
