DAZL 15 years Promo Project with Wayne Sables DAZL celebrates turning 15 years with a many artistic dance and film projects in partnership with Wayne Sables. The DAZL is 15 years film shows the journey of where we have come and how the organisation impacts of people lives. The result of this will be the narrative for the 2day showcase at the Stanley and Audrey Burton Theatre which shows real people, communities that DAZL effects. The DAZL is 15 year show celabrate the communities and partners who have elevated DAZL over the years and enabled the organisation be what it is today. Wayne Sables was simply the best partner to work with on this fun project and the young people gained so much from the experience. The project was supported by Arts Council England and Leeds Public Health
DAZL work with Wayne Sables on Film Project Support by Jimbos Fund
DAZL has been involved in some fantastic projects over the summer supported by the Leeds Community Foundations – Jimbos Fund. One of these projects is a dance film with Wayne Sables Project and the making and development of the DAZL is 15 years showcase event “connections”. Young people from across Gipton, Seacroft, Richmond Hill and Ebor Gardens were involved. This film along with LIVE performances from the groups which are name the DAZL Goldstars and DAZL Inspire will showcase there work on Tuesday 24th & Wednesday 25th November at the Stanley and Audrey Burton Theatre home to Phoenix Dance Theatre. Thank you Jimbos Fund for enabling this to happen.

DAZL & Phoenix Dance Theatre – Made In Leeds TV (Full Interview)
Dance Action Zone Leeds collaborate with Phoenix Dance Theatre Dancers and Artistic Director Sharon Watson – feature on Made In Leeds TV, Celebrating DAZL’s 15 year birthday which has been supported by Arts Council England. Also featured in the interview DAZL’s success of winning FRESH 2015 and representing Yorkshire at Youth Dance England’s U.Dance in Plymouth.
DAZL Youth Companies New Developments
The DAZL Youth Dance Companies are working on two new dance and health creations which has been choreographed with DAZL Dance Development Officer Vicky Mawson. “HOOKED” which explores addiction and “Contaminated” looks at issues around contracting diseases and infections. We Youth Companies have submitted both these works to Yorkshire Dance Annual Youth Dance Platform FRESH and will look to develop the work/ choreography further and take them to perform at other events across the region.
